Procedure for resetting a Pc to Eliminate a virus

Step1: determine what type and level of virus

Step 2: how’s the virus treating your PC, what can and can’t you do. ( determine)

Step3: IF virus disabled windows defender, then do this.

Step 4: get a flash drive, atleast 8gb.

Step 5: Download a windows 10/11 iso file from the web. (Preferably on another Uninfected Pc)

Step 6: Download Rufus from the web

Step 7: send Rufus and the windows 10/11 iso to the flash drive

Step 8: click on Rufus and select “boot selection”

Step 9: make sure the option is on ISO, then proceed to select the iso file by clicking “SELECT”

Step 10: make sure partition scheme is “GPT” and File system is “NTFS”

Step 11: Click on the start and wait for it to finish.

Step 12: Go to the settings>>>system>>>recovery>>>Restart Now

Step 13: insert the flash drive in the PC

Step 14: After the blue screen loads up, click on “Use a device” then click on “EFI USB DEVICE”

Step 15: Windows setup screen shows, proceed to click on “next” ( you might need an external mouse)

Step 16: Click on “Install now”

Step 17: Click on “I accept terms” then “Next”

Step 18: click on custom installation

Step 19: depending on the brand of laptop (example: Acer). Search for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver or go to Acer.com( or the website of the laptops brand)

Step 20: Go to the “support navigation bar”, the click on drivers and manuals. Proceed to next step.

Step 21: check the model number under the laptop and input it in the search field

Step 22: scroll down and look for the IRST( Intel Rapid Storage Technology) and download the drivers (recent)

Step 23: After downloading it, extract or decompress it. Then send it to another flash drive.

Step 24: Input the flash drive inside the PC and click on “load driver “

Step 25: go to the flash drive directory/location and click on the IRST.

Step 26: Click on the first intel RST VDM, the next.

Step 27: Click on Driver partition with the most storage space, then “next”

Step 28: After clicking on the Largesr storage, click on “format” then “ok” (reason is, so it can get rid of the infected windows/virus)

Step 29: Click on “Next” (during this time, windows will install)

Step 30: Windows should be installed by now
