Shedding the Perfection Myth: Why I’m Loving Life as a Serial Beginner (at Everything)

I’ve never been one to float through existence with tastefulness. No, I’m to a greater degree a staggering, wobbling sort of soulless swan, even more a decided flamingo attempting to explore on one leg. You know, the sort whose descending, confronting canine in yoga looks like a befuddled starfish as opposed to anything remotely yogi-esque.

Furthermore, I could go on and on about my disastrous endeavor at a headstand, which left my self-image wounded and my feline completely entertained.

Truly, I’m a “serial beginner.” At the age of 64, I’m gladly embracing my status as a never-ending beginner in different exercises. Certainly, it could appear to be eccentric to be a fledgling in such countless things at this stage throughout everyday life, except, let me tell you, it's strangely freeing.

In a world that extols skill and dominance, I’m turning the tables. I’m throwing to the side the tension of flawlessness and plunging recklessly into the muddled, magnificent turmoil of attempting new things.

Take cooking, for instance. My kitchen capers have created dinners that could equal conceptual craftsmanship. Also, dance classes? Indeed, we should simply say my two remaining feet have a language all their own.

Be that as it may, guess what? Each stagger, each goof—they're like symbols of honor. They’re updates that I’m investigating, developing, and declining to be limited by the apprehension about not taking care of business at the initial time—or the 10th.

There’s an impossible-to-miss delight in being a delayed prodigy. It resembles finding a secret mother lode of encounters that were sitting tight for me to coincidentally find. It’s about the excursion, not the faultless objective—an excursion sprinkled with chuckling, a couple of tears (for the most part from giggling excessively hard), and a ton of heart.

This story is for every one of the delightful spirits out there who, similar to me, are revamping the standards of effortless maturing. It’s for the delayed prodigies, the stagger-inclined, and the sublimely abnormal among us. Prepare to have your mind blown. It’s never too late to get a paintbrush, play a guitar, or take a shot at earthenware.

In this way, get your flimsy equilibrium, your design decisions that could cause a stir, and that irresistible excitement that will not be held back. How about we expose the fantasy that becoming older means adhering to what we know.

We should delight in the delight of being unending novices and show the world that the most lovely excursions frequently start with an entertaining stumble.

Eventually, there’s no need to focus on culminating the specialty of everything; it’s tied in with relishing the chaotic, awesome course of picking up, fizzling, and learning some more. Furthermore, trust me, the view from the “chronic amateur” seat is darn incredible.
