- Where are you in your soundwriting process?
- What’s been done and what’s still left to do?
I am at the part of revising and editing my work. I also am going to practice reading it outloud because I am recording my radio show this Friday.
- What are your biggest accomplishments and failures so far?
- How do you feel about that?
I would say my biggest accomplishment was making personal connections to add more personality to the whole thing. However, I still feel like when I read it, there is still not enough personality as it feels monotone. I do feel a bit some things can get lost or sound boring as I feel like I tend to stretch it out a bit. I have gotten good feedback from peers in class and they said it did not feel like that, as it was easy to follow along. This made me feel better about it. I feel overall fine with this as I feel like there are more accomplishments than failures but there will always be failures. Throughout the process, I feel like I overcame a lot of those obstacles as well.
- What have you learned so far?
I have learned a lot throughout this. I have never written a radio show, or performed one. Overall, I have learned how to write a radio show script and how to perform one. Not only that, but I learned so much about my topic which is psychology and its connection in poetry.
- What ideas did you grapple with?
- Which problems have you solved, and which are you continuing to grapple with?
- How might you over come the challenges and struggles?
I feel like I talked a bit about this in a previous section, but I can explain more in this one. I feel like my biggest concern is how I am going to sound, I really want to sound like I have a personality. I do not want my listeners to feel disengaged or lose interest. I want to be able to hook them in and keep them hooked throughout the whole thing. Another small concern I have is my points. I feel like some of them can be worked on a bit and sound better and not stretched out or repetitive.
- What decisions have emerged lately as you plan and work on your project?
When I was writing this project I remember doing the radio show listening activity and one of the ones we listened to write their own poem. In my radio show script I decided to write my own as well and I really enjoyed it. This idea was not a plan of mine when I first started to write this, as it just emerged out of nowhere it feels like.
- What is the next step in your composing process?
- What do you need to do, know, and write?
My next steps are to revise it and practice it. I want to make sure everything sounds good and the content is understandable. I want this to be my best work.
- Walk through the four elements of the rhetorical situation:
- How are you feeling about your progress toward achieving your purpose?
When I first started writing this, I thought I would not achieve my purpose at all. Now that I am almost done with this assignment, I feel like I did achieve my goal. I feel like I learned so much about my topic and I enjoy discussing it with others. I did not know I would enjoy it this much.
- How are you feeling about your progress toward affecting your audience?
As I said previously, my concern is keeping the audience hooked as I do not want to make them think I am disengaged in my topic, making them disengaged too. However, feedback I have gotten on this project has made me feel better about that issue. Throughout these next few days, I am hoping I can fix what I need to fix and give them my best work. I really want them to learn about my topic.
- How are you feeling about your progress toward situating your work in time and place of your context?
I feel like my format is really good. I tried my best to make connections and support my evidence. I really want my audience to understand how important procedural poetry is.
- How are you feeling about your progress toward following the expectations of your genre?
I feel like I did meet my expectations of my genre and proved how different it is from other forms.
