Rock Hall 2026 Inductees: Oasis, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol & More

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has officially unveiled its Class of 2026, delivering a lineup that spans the gritty origins of punk, the heights of Britpop, the precision of heavy metal, and the revolutionary sounds of hip-hop.

This year’s inducted performers include Billy Idol (alongside longtime collaborator Steve Stevens), Iron Maiden, Oasis, Joy Division/New Order, Phil Collins, Sade, Luther Vandross, and the Wu-Tang Clan.

The 2026 Induction Ceremony will take place on November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, debuting in December on ABC and Disney+. As we look ahead to the ceremony, we are looking back at our various Paltrocast conversations with these legends and the artists they influenced.

The Heavy Hitters: Iron Maiden & Tom Morello’s Campaign

For years, the exclusion of Iron Maiden was a point of contention for metal fans globally. One of the most vocal advocates for their induction has been Tom Morello, who has frequently used his platform to campaign for the “Beast.”

In a 2024 Paltrocast interview, Morello discussed the misconceptions people have about the Rock Hall and why he felt it was vital for Maiden to be recognized. We also look back to a rare 2000 conversation with Maiden guitarist Dave Murray.

Punk Pioneer: Billy Idol & Steve Stevens

Billy Idol officially enters the Hall alongside his “longtime compatriot” Steve Stevens. The duo recently celebrated the news on American Idol, performing their classic “Rebel Yell” with Carrie Underwood. Idol is currently in the midst of his It’s A Nice Day To…Tour Again! world tour and promoting his latest album, Dream Into It.

Britpop & Beyond: The Oasis Connection
