▬▬▬ INTERVIEW ▬▬▬

1. You hold a unique hybrid role that combines partnership operations, analytics, and sales. How do you balance these responsibilities, and where do you see the greatest synergy between them?

For me, partnership operations, analytics, and sales all work hand-in-hand. Good operations keep everything moving, analytics show what’s working and where to improve, and sales drives growth. I balance these by focusing on the highest-impact projects, working closely with other teams, and automating where I can so I have more time for strategy. The real synergy is using data to build and scale great partnerships.

2. What does your typical day at Tribe Gaming look like, and how does it change during major campaigns or partnership launches?

On a normal day, I manage inbound partnership activity, maintain data accuracy, and ensure internal resources are up to date for cross-functional alignment. When we’re running a big campaign or activation, my focus shifts to coordinating across teams, tracking deliverables, and staying in close contact with everyone to keep things moving. We work as one team, supporting each other wherever needed to ensure a smooth and successful execution.

─────✦✦✦─────

3. What qualities do you think make a strategic partnership successful in the gaming content space?

I think a successful partnership in the gaming content world really depends on authentic alignment between the brand and the creator community, plus a clear understanding of what the audience expects. It’s also important to stay flexible since trends move fast. When everyone is open, respectful, and works together, that’s what sets the stage for long-term success.

─────✦✦✦─────

4. What do you think brands value most when partnering with a gaming content collective?

In my experience, brands look for three main things with a gaming content collective: authentic audience connections, creative storytelling, and a partner they can count on to deliver. When those pieces come together, brands feel confident their message will land and their goals will be met.

─────✦✦✦─────

5. How do you tailor partnership strategies to different types of sponsors — for example, endemic vs non-endemic brands?

For endemic brands, who already know gaming culture, I like to focus on authentic, community-driven campaigns that dig deeper into what the audience cares about. For non-endemic brands, I usually spend more time educating them about what resonates with gamers and how to show up in a way that feels natural. Either way, the goal is to keep things authentic, respect the community, and meet the partner’s objectives.

─────✦✦✦─────

6. Tribe Gaming is known for its strong brand identity. How do you ensure that potential partnerships align with Tribe’s values and audience expectations?

I always make sure a potential partner fits our brand values and feels right for our community. Before moving forward, I look at whether their messaging, products, and overall vibe match our culture. I also get input from our creators early on since they know their audiences best, and check in with other team members to keep everyone aligned. That way, we protect trust and build partnerships that feel authentic and meaningful.

─────✦✦✦─────

7. In what ways do you collaborate with the content and production teams to deliver integrated campaigns for partners?

Whenever a project involves the content and production teams, I bring them in right from the start. If their deliverables are heavier, we’ll work closely through the whole campaign; otherwise, we’ll align on the key details early on. Getting them involved upfront really sets us up for success and makes sure everything stays on-brand and connects with the audience.

─────✦✦✦─────

8. Can you share a partnership or campaign that you’re particularly proud of? What made it successful from your perspective?

One project I’m really proud of was in 2021, when I led an edutainment series for the Brawl Stars Esports YouTube channel. I’ve been playing Brawl Stars since day 1 of beta release and even competed in their first live event, so it was special for me. When the world finals teams were locked in, I got to lead the partnership from concept through execution. We worked with players across different regions, so time zones, language barriers & game delay had to be accounted for. Working through these challenges were tough, but incredibly rewarding. The series worked so well because it mixed authentic storytelling with educational content and really engaged fans around a big esports moment.

─────✦✦✦─────

9. What role does data and audience analytics play in your decision-making when negotiating and optimizing partnerships?

Data and audience analytics play a huge role in every stage of partnerships. They help back up our community’s size, engagement, and demographics, which makes negotiations stronger and helps with early projections. Once a campaign is live, data lets us track results, find ways to optimize, and show clear impact to partners. It also helps support renewals and upsells by proving long-term value and spotting future opportunities.

─────✦✦✦─────

10. The mobile esports and gaming space continues to evolve rapidly. How do you stay ahead of trends and ensure Tribe remains competitive in the sponsorship space?

I stay on top of trends by keeping up with industry reports, publisher updates, and talking with peers in the space. It definitely helps that I’m a gamer myself, so I see firsthand what players are interested in and how tastes shift. Internally, I make sure we stay flexible so we can test new ideas or pivot strategies if needed. That mix of industry knowledge and personal experience helps us stay competitive.

─────✦✦✦─────

11. What aspects of partnership operations do you think require the most focus to deliver consistent, high-quality results?

I think it’s important to stay focused on clear deliverables, good communication, and strong processes so campaigns run smoothly. Another big one is keeping things consistent across global activations, which we support through solid documentation and teamwork. By staying on top of these areas, we can deliver reliable, high quality results.

─────✦✦✦─────

12. What do you think makes ROI measurement especially important in the gaming and content partnership space?

Measuring ROI is super important in gaming partnerships because brands want to know their investment is reaching a real, engaged audience. It also builds trust and helps keep partnerships going over the long term. When brands see that their campaigns truly connect with communities, it encourages them to stay invested in the space.

─────✦✦✦─────

13. How does your role interact with sales strategy — do you directly contribute to monetization goals?

Yes, my role supports monetization by managing partnership operations and making sure analytical deliverables such as reporting and performance data are accurate and on time. That is key for revenue recognition and partner retention. I help support monetization by working on asset valuation and providing data to inform proposals and renewals with my team, which the rest of the company can use in proposals. On top of that, I support upsells and renewals with insights and performance tracking. Even though I am not usually closing deals myself at my current role, I work closely with the wider partnerships team to keep the pipeline clear and hit our revenue goals.

─────✦✦✦─────

14. Tribe Gaming is expanding across games and platforms. How does this diversification affect your approach to partnerships and operations?

Expanding across more games and platforms doesn’t fundamentally change how we work, but it does make it even more important to keep our quality standards high. We make sure our processes, deliverables, and communication stay consistent so partners get a reliable experience no matter which title we’re working on. It also means we have to collaborate even more across teams to share best practices and stay aligned.

─────✦✦✦─────

15. What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in partnerships or commercial operations within a top-tier esports organization like Tribe Gaming?

I would say build a real understanding of gaming culture and stay curious about how communities interact with content. On top of that, develop solid business skills like project management, data analysis, and communication. The best people in this space can balance creativity with strategic thinking and work well across teams. And don’t be afraid to take initiative, because showing that you can solve problems and think proactively is a huge asset.
