He Choked Me. Then He Saved Me
I was in tears

He rushed over to me and strangled my neck, and my neck loosened as though I was Donald Duck. I kicked the football, told him to move away, but he didn’t. The football hit him, and he came for me.
My Physical Education teacher rushed over to stop him. It took quite a while for him to release my neck. I was in tears.
Despite him strangling my neck, he ended up being the one who supported me when I was at my lowest point in life. Many who addressed me as brotherhood were nowhere to be seen when I needed help.
He didn’t have many friends as he couldn’t blend in. The other classmates would make fun of him. I still remember meeting him one day with his fists full of blood. He had the habit of bashing the walls and glass. His mum would often compare him with other people and me. This greatly irritated him and lowered his self-esteem.
He was married and had a son. He and his wife approached me previously for collaboration, but in the end, we didn’t collaborate. His wife wanted to teach kids and said that they could be very violent, wanted me to be 100% sure I could do it.
I had no experience in it and thought it was not worthwhile to delve into something I’m unfamiliar with and have no passion for. Not every opportunity that knocked on your door was good for you; many were traps. I prefer opportunities that are aligned with me or that I have a passion for.
He joined the same religion as his wife and commented that my God was not a true God, only his was. After this comment, I knew we were no longer on the same frequency; it was better that we go our separate ways.
I avoid religions that dismiss other religions or use fear to control their followers. I used to follow two monks outside the Chinese temple. They could use qigong to heal your body for $50 or $100.
The treatment was indeed good. But I realised the female nun would often tell her followers that if they did not eat vegetarian they would have bad karma. In the end, I kept a distance from them and chose the universe as my spirituality.
I then understood why some people choose to become atheists while others choose the universe as their spirituality.
Recently, I chose to be a non-meat eater, but not a full vegetarian. Just want to minimise bad karma for myself.
