Hey Brothers and Sisters in Writing!

Anyone interested in collaborating along the Sterling and Stone model?

This has been a great article, definitely an eye-opener for me. The world of publishing, like the world at large has changed so much in the past 10 years…

But that’s not what I wanted to write about. I contacted Sterling and Stone, predictably they are not taking on the new authors, but there is no harm in asking… especially that I would usually overthink whether to ask for weeks. Then I thought, this is Medium, what better place to look for Brothers and Sisters in Writing? And then I thought, let’s not overthink this too much and post here (I’m terrified of posting).

Who would be interested in creating a co-op modelled on theirs? So we can motivate each other and help each other with editing and share the knowledge and experience of marketing and whatever else will need to be done, not just to hack at it alone, but in good company?

I have been looking and studying the ways of making a living from writing for a bit now. And now I’m at the point where I can spend time on the creative endeavours and the Sterling and Stone way seems very alluring for me, because it would be writing things I would actually really most be writing: going into the worlds and characters that interest me (or on that intersection of what interests me and the reader) as opposed to other ways of making money writing by writing for someone. So I would be having fun at the very least.
