Welcome!

A little bit about me. I have a Master’s degree in microbiology and immunology, a PhD in environmental sciences, and certificates in Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear explosive (CBRNe) defense. My research has focused on public discussion on Twitter surrounding anthrax related events. I LOVE visiting national parks and science museums. More recently, I have also been trying to visit museums and locations with a CBRNe past like Oak Ridge, TN and the National Atomic Museum in Las Vegas. I have two dogs that travel with me wherever they can (Hela and Nova), along with an African clawed frog (Mendel) and a leopard gecko (Darwin). Now that I have shared a little bit about me, I want to discuss my goals for this blog.

Before joining the CBRNe world, I knew very little about it. Once I became an expert, I realized just how many misconceptions and misinformation is out there. Therefore, the goal of this blog will be to teach people about CBRNe including its history, addressing misconceptions, discussing why current events are or are not terrorism, and hopefully, one day being able to travel and inform on places with a CBRNe history (like Oak Ridge, Aberdeen, and the National Atomic Museum). I think my next post will be how I got into CBRNe defense. Until then, make informed decisions.
