Dear Pune, You Became Home ๐Ÿค

Usually, people talk about having attachment issues with their partners, friends, or loved ones. But if you ask me, I developed an attachment to a city called Pune. I never imagined that I would become so deeply connected to a place. When I first came to Pune in the 11th standard, I was just a young girl stepping into a completely new environment. To be honest, the city felt overwhelming and intimidating. Everything seemed unfamiliar, and I was scared. I never thought that one day, the same city would become my comfort and my second home.

Slowly, Pune stopped being just a place where I lived and became a place where I belonged. It gave me so much more than an address. It gave me friends, memories, people who became family, and experiences that shaped me into the person I am today. The innocent girl who arrived in the city slowly learned to explore, take risks, become independent, and face challenges. Looking back, I realize that many of the changes in my life happened because of the environment I lived in and the people I met here.

I never truly understood how attached I had become to this city until the thought of leaving started crossing my mind. Moving to another city for further studies and new opportunities always seemed exciting, but I never imagined that leaving Pune would affect me this much. Sometimes, I just sit quietly and think about all the memories I have made here. Every road, every cafรฉ, every college corridor, every familiar place carries a piece of my life. There is something about entering this city that instantly brings me peace. It feels like home in a way I cannot explain.

Pune has witnessed every version of me. It saw me as an innocent girl trying to find her place, and it watched me grow into someone stronger and more confident. It saw my happiest moments and my worst days. It saw me cry, fail, heal, laugh, and rise again. It introduced me to beautiful people, gave me friendships that I will cherish forever, and taught me lessons through heartbreaks and goodbyes. Some relationships ended here, while some of the most beautiful bonds of my life began here. Through every up and down, this city quietly stood beside me.

People often say that it is just a city, that there is nothing special about loving a place so much. But I disagree. Cities are not made only of roads and buildings; they are made of memories. They are made of the different versions of ourselves that we leave behind in every corner. Pune holds so many versions of me, and perhaps that is why leaving feels so difficult. I know I havenโ€™t explored every part of this city, and maybe thatโ€™s what makes me even more emotional. There is still so much left, yet I already feel nostalgic.

Maybe moving to a new city will bring new opportunities, new people, and a new version of myself. I know life demands change, and change is necessary for growth. But right now, the thought of leaving is heartbreaking because Pune didnโ€™t just give me a life it gave me growth. From being a confused and innocent girl to becoming the person I am today, this city has played a huge role in my journey.

People may not understand why I love this city so much, but I know what Pune means to me. It made me think, dream, fall, rise, and become who I am. It became more than just a place on the map. It became home.

And no matter where life takes me next, a part of my heart will always belong to Pune.

Iโ€™m going to miss you.
