preparation before power

In Lesson 2 of Acts, Jesus Gives Final Instructions, focus on what disciples must not do yet. told to wait.

if i’m just about to witnessed something great, urgency is natural. momentum is justified. action is right.

But the instruction is clear, do nothing until power comes.

not knowledge. not strategy. POWER. ⚡⚡⚡

Acts 1:8 defines everything that follows Jerusalem. Judea. Samaria. Ends of the earth. looks like a map 🗺️ but actually a progression.

Local → regional → cultural boundary → global.

Receive power, then witness. That order is not flexible. Most modern efforts start the work, then hope for strength along the way. but here says:

Power first, then movement.

⏳ This waiting period is often misunderstood.

alignment. alignment. alignment.

The disciples are re-centering around a shared purpose, reorganizing leadership after loss, holding tension between promise and fulfillment..

They are being positioned. ♜

Then Jesus leaves. Physically. That moment forces a shift.

Up until now, the disciples followed a visible leader. Now they must carry an invisible mission. The movement is no longer about proximity to Jesus but a representation of Him.

Before any miracle happens, something else happens. They restore leadership, replacing Judas is a signal that this movement will organize.

Structure appears before scale.

Again, the order matters.

In Acts, impact comes from preparation. Waiting before moving. Power before action. Alignment before expansion.. Strip that away, and what remains may still look busy, but it won’t carry the same force.

imagine.. You are called. You are ready. but you are told to wait. ⏳ this tension feels inefficient. feels like delay… But in Acts, that gap is where everything is set.

Before the church moves, it pauses. Before it speaks, it receives. Before it spreads, it gathers.

That sequence is the foundation the entire movement stands on.
