The USMNT has just beaten Australia 2–0 which means that they have officially clinched a Round Of 32 spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. And Paraguay just beat Turkey 1–0 which means they win Group D

Since the USMNT beat Paraguay 4–1 that gives them 3 points. Then they beat Australia 1–0 and that gives them another 3 points. Now they have a total of 6 points. Paraguay beat Turkey so that gives them 3 points. USA has 6 points, Paraguay has 3 points, Australia has 3 points and Turkey has 0. Every team still has a game to play though. If the US win or tie then they would have 9 points and no team could catch them. If they loose and Paraguay ties Australia then USA would have 6 points and Paraguay and Austalia would have 4 points. If USA loose and Paraguay or Australia win then they would both have 6 points but the first time breaker is head to head and USA beat both of them then USA would still win the group. The USMNT has officially won group D.

USA VS Australia

In the 2–0 win vs Australia there was one own goal and Alex Freeman, the son of a super bowl winner, Antonio Freeman got his 3rd international goal. The USMNT had a very good performance against a really good Australia tem. They broke them down very well. They were very dangerous and forced an own goal. The one concern is that Christian Pulisic did not play due to injury. But he will probably play against Turkey. Also, by winning their opening match 4–1 against Paraguay and following it with a 2–0 win over Australia, the USMNT won back-to-back group stage games at a World Cup for the first time since the first tournament in 1930. Finally, the defense held firm to record the team’s first clean sheet in 10 matches, giving goalkeeper Matt Freese a well-deserved shutout.

What Team will The USMNT Play Against In The later Rounds?

Sense, the USMNT won group D, they will play against a third from place team from group B, E, F, I or J. It is most likely that the USMNT will face the winner between Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina. If they draw then USA will probably play against Ecuador, Sweden, Senegal or Algeria in the Round Of 32. In the Round of 16, the USMNT will probably play against a third place team from group E, H, I, J or Belgium or Egypt. And then in the Quarter finals maybe Spain and then in the Semi Finals, Maybe France And the in the final maybe Portugal. Nobody knows though.
