Left Field

Gut feelings.

There are some things I know. Wash across my mind That may be a second sense And often are undefined.

More of a gut feeling Suspicion or instinct I trust However indistinct.

They can come from left field. These thoughts, ideas, and notions And be born from deep within Often with mixed emotions.

I never disregard them. However hard they seem. They usually are true. And not part of a dream.

They help if I’m in danger. As long as I take heed An invisible protection Particularly when in need.

Sometimes a mere compulsion That something isn’t right A message giving gravity To natural born insight.

It helps me when deciding. What is the best choice? I listen to myself And hear my inner voice.

Even in the nighttime A vision I am seeing In a dream, is instinct About my very being.
