Inside the Tornado

“I can see it. That’s the problem. YOU NEED TO SOLVE THAT.” “Why can’t you be more logical like me?” “Why can’t you see what you’re doing wrong?”

We say things like this to the people closest to us our friends, our family when they’re struggling. We wonder why they can’t see their own problem. Why they don’t just follow our solution. Why they don’t do what we think is right.

But honestly… how stupid of us.

Because the friend we call “illogical” is actually us when we face something painful. When you’re inside the trouble, you simply can’t see clearly.

It’s like a tornado. When you’re inside it, your world is spinning. Your view is limited. Everything feels big, messy, overwhelming. You can’t even find the door to get out.

But when it’s someone else’s tornado? You’re on the outside. You can see the whole shape of the storm. You can see the way out.

You can even think, “Ah, this is actually a small problem,” because you’re not the one being blown around inside it.

Just like how others can’t understand our pain when we’re inside our tornado, we also can’t fully understand theirs.

So don’t judge. Don’t assume you know best. Don’t think your logic is superior.

Because you never truly know what the storm feels like from the inside.
