Rethinking Life and Career Choices
While Turning 30!
This is your sign to start:)

I don’t know why, but lately it feels like an existential crisis is quietly knocking at my door.
Every morning while heading to work, I catch myself wondering, “What’s the purpose of all this?” I leave home with a strange heaviness and come back with no real sense of fulfillment. No dopamine rush. No excitement. Just another day checked off the calendar.
Maybe I’m simply exhausted. Perhaps it’s the recent role change that has left me feeling lost. Maybe it’s the constant noise around layoffs, AI, and job insecurity slowly feeding my anxiety every single day.
Or maybe, somewhere underneath all that fear, there’s a smaller, quieter, but deeply aspirational voice trying to tell me it’s finally time to build something of my own.
But honestly, there are too many maybes. My anxious self overthinks them daily.
The funny thing is, my anxious side is always louder. It loves “what if” scenarios.
What if it fails? What if I regret leaving stability? What if I’m not capable enough?
But very rarely do I allow myself to ask the following:
What if it actually works? What if I end up doing something I genuinely enjoy? What if I finally understand who I am outside of a job title and salary slip?
And honestly, that thought scares me just as much.
Turning 30 suddenly feels less about age and more about awareness. It feels like life is quietly asking me, “So… what actually makes you happy?”
Because right now, I’m not sure this version of life does.
I know I’m privileged to even have the option to think this way. A stable job, a routine, financial comfort all of that matters. But somewhere between being practical and being responsible, I think I stopped listening to myself.
Maybe this is my emotional side talking. Or maybe this is the practical side finally taking a backseat after years of choosing stability and comfort over curiosity.
I don’t know yet.
What I do know is that I want to give myself one real chance. A fair chance. To explore, to build, to maybe fail but at least feel alive while trying.
Journaling this is my reminder to myself that what I’m doing right now is no longer making me happy or content. And maybe that realization itself is the beginning of something.
I don’t have all the answers yet. I don’t know the how, the when, or even the what. I know it’ll require courage, preparation, discipline, and probably a lot of uncomfortable days.
But it’s never too late to choose yourself.
This time, I want to see the glass half full. This time, I don’t want fear making decisions for me. And this time, I genuinely want to finish what I start.
Fingers crossed.
