A Journey of Perseverance

My journey with the Amal fellowship so far has been full of learnings and beautiful moments, but the most memorable one was when I was executing the project and raising funds for the Edhi and Akhuwat foundations. That’s why it’s especially important to me.

I felt like I was contributing to the vision that Abdul Sattar Edhi established the Edhi Foundation. Before receiving this fellowship, I had never experienced a journey like this. The experience of stepping out of my comfort zone and taking an extra step with gratitude is something I learned throughout the journey. It was the first time I was rejected directly by people and it didn’t feel good at the time, but in the end, I received an overwhelming response from those around me and my ego changed to a mixture of humility and gratitude.

I called on people to donate and got a lot of responses. Many encouraged me, some ignored me, some discouraged me, and I felt that I can’t take everyone with me, but I should do my best. Throughout this journey, my colleagues from Amal were by my side. They encouraged me to take a step forward when I was nervous. They gave me confidence and helped me overcome my fears. As the days went on, I learned that being surrounded by good people makes difficulties much easier, and I will always be grateful for that.

I learned that by being grateful and applying Amal’s principle of “KAM, KAM, or KAM”, I can go beyond my own limitations. The support of people around you can help you achieve many great things. I am thankful to AMAL ACADEMY for providing me with such an excellent learning platform.
