Support: Krigstrommer After a long build up, both in coming to the stage and in coming to the first notes the angsty, new romantics in Krigstrommer simmer throughout. In front of a babbling, young crowd the singer — who wears curtains as well as anyone since Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy — shouts his heartfelt lyrics into the hidden attic room venue as if railing against the world into the Danish wildness. The bassist and guitarist on stage right are lost even more in the music, adding some much-needed energy and oomph, though the crowd remain peppy, audibly asking for more after the short set concludes.

Headliner: Wildr It becomes evident in the pause that QOTSA (or just Josh Homme as Them Crooked Vultures also featured) maybe a favourite of the soundman. Following this interlude, the volume remains ramped up and as Wildr walk out there’s an immediate corresponding amplification of attitude, and also fun. Some short snappy numbers feature but overall, they keep it kinda bouncy. The echoes on the vocals take some of the punk edge off of proceedings and actually the music would be best described as punk adjacent rather than outright punk itself. With a love song in the form of “Blue Eyes” and a hard riffing final song, played from the “pit”, there’s something for all of their few dedicated fans, no doubt now on the hunt for their faces in the home video recording of the show. The singer can sing — he has a catchy and clear voice; the mulleted guitarist gave gusto; bass was taken care of by a good time gal, all smiley and bouncy; and the Pantera fan on drums certainly had a few proper beats about him, easily the hardest player in the band. Learning the lyrics was possible at the show tonight which gave an immediate sense of connection and involvement so that it was definitely worth the entry price. Questions remain though as to whether the scene is somewhat starved here in Copenhagen.
