A Truly Beautiful Film

Funny, dramatic and heartbreaking

For April 23rd, Stephen V. asks us to share our favorite movie. I have many, but “Terms of Endearment” is my all-time fave.

Never has a film remained for so long in my memory.

I first watched it on VHS tape in the 1980’s. Remember them?

It was a Friday night ritual in our house. We’d load the kids into the family van, and head to the local Blockbuster.

Once there, we’d spend about 20 minutes selecting movies to watch. Usually one family movie, and another for us, after the kids were in bed.

“Terms of Endearment” had won the Academy Award for best picture in 1984. So it was on my watch list.

I’ve always liked Shirley MacLaine, she is a multitalented performer.

A young Debra Winger was fresh off her role opposite Richard Gere in “An Officer and a Gentleman.”

This film grabs at your heart strings from the beginning, and never lets go.

Every scene is captivating in a way you can’t look away. You become attached to each character and invested in their outcomes.

If you haven’t seen this classic tale of family, fight and flight, you must find a way.

You won’t be disappointed. I’ll leave you with this short preview of my favorite movie!
