Summery day at the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. My thanks to Sam, who donated a bunch of baseball books, and to the woman who did a swap of Russian titles; and to Alex, who bought Russian translations of Danielle Steel’s Rogue and 44 Charles Street; and to the gentleman who purchased The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky, a Mark Twain collection, and a hardcover in Russian; and to Herbie, who took home The In-Between: Intimate and Candid Moments of Broadway Stars by Jenny Anderson and Ariana DeBose; and to the woman who chose Waiting for the Galactic Bus by Parke Godwin; and to Piano Piano, who donated four incontinence items; and to the woman who selected two of them. PP is a gregarious Russian immigrant in his 80s. He has an Italian friend at his club in Brighton who taught him a few words. We greet each other with a Buon Giorno just about every day.
