I didn’t build a tool. I found a protocol.

I was just trying to build a slash command.

Nothing fancy. Type /agent, answer a few questions, get a briefing file. I'd done harder things.

So I opened a session and got to work.

An hour in, I was staring at nine fields spread across every .md file I’d ever built.

Minion. Tag. Handoff. Buddy. Companion.

I started cutting. Which ones do I actually give? Which ones does AI just… figure out?

So I pulled up real messages I’d typed. Things I send without thinking.

“ช่วยสรุปเรื่องนี้ให้สันอ่าน bullet ง่ายๆ”(Summarize this for San — bullet points, keep it simple)

Two things. Every single time.

Who. And what.

Nine fields became four.

And then I typed out loud what I was seeing -

just to make sense of it -

and I startled myself. The good kind. The oh shit kind.

Because those five files I’d been comparing?

Same skeleton. Same four fields. Different clothes.

I’d been writing the same protocol for months -

• without knowing it existed.

It felt like looking at the floor and realizing it’s actually a roof.

There’s a whole layer underneath.

It was always there.

I don’t have a name for it yet.
