Is the universe ignoring me…Or am I just impatient?

People are always saying trust the universe, but what actually is it? Is it a feeling, an energy, can you see it? I don’t think anyone could say – it is so unique to every individual.

The universe might be compared to God, a higher power if you will. It requires faith and is connected to finding your destiny. The thing with the universe and destiny is that it doesn’t just “happen”; you have to work towards it. You have to create your destiny.

As much as the universe has your back, if you want something, whether that’s a job, a partner, a friend, a lifestyle or more, you have to carry out the steps and have an open heart-mind connection to get there.

But sometimes, you may feel you’re doing everything right and “correct”, but life keeps throwing you curveballs and you’re just not getting what you want.

And that’s when the question ‘is the universe ignoring me?’ arises. How long are you supposed to wait for the universe to do its thing?

To have faith in something intangible requires bravery – because you are truly relying on a connection you feel to this ‘invisible thing’ that many people, including yourself, might question or challenge.

But having faith comes with an explanation to situations and encounters when they don’t go according to your plan. It is about trusting that this higher power – the universe – has already set out a plan for you, and that might differ to your current idealised plan, but it has been beautifully curated to align with your stars. It’s more ideal for you than you might realise.

Why are you not listening to me?

Asking the universe countless times for something, but it seems like it is doing everything but what you want is a frustrating place to be in. Trusting the universe is almost a catch 22; you need to have the faith to give the universe an opportunity to show it is on your side, but you also have to see the outcomes to have the faith.

This idea of continuously having 100% faith in the universe is unrealistic as the human mind is always questioning our interactions and situations for self-protection.

I don’t believe the universe is truly ignoring me or you. Rather, I think it is allowing us to survive through particular experiences that will strengthen our mindsets for what our futures hold. The universe will only give you what you are searching for when the timing is genuinely aligned. Things don’t come prematurely – and if they do, we often find a spanner in the works because the universe is giving us signs that this is not yours to have right now. Lessons often come from premature interactions and events.

If it’s meant to be, it will reach you again. Things come back around full circle and we have to trust that what is meant for us will find its rightful destination if we stay emotionally and mentally open and work towards it.

How delayed is delayed gratification?

It’s easy for someone to tell you to be patient and that you’ll appreciate things more if you wait and work for it, but as humans, it is not absurd to feel impatient about your goals and dreams when you’re passionate enough to have them!

Humans have interests and enthusiasm; and we can’t just put our emotions on long-term pause whilst we’re waiting for things to work out or for the universe to play out its story for us.

Nothing happens just because, so make intentional choices that edge you closer to your dreams and goals. Guide yourself to what you want in life and the universe will see and hear this and work with you.

To have a positive mindset and an open heart to finding what is meant for you is the first and vital step to be able to reach your destiny.

Speak your dreams into existence – the universe is listening to you. It is just waiting for spiritual alignment and the energies to sync up to deliver what is already yours.

We have autonomy and control over our destiny, so as individuals, we need to work with the universe, not against it.
