Sevimprov x Comedy Nuggets: A Night of Laughter

Last night’s Comedy Nuggets Open Mic saw the return of Sevimprov, the Sevilla-based improv group that brought the house down with laughter, quick wit, and unexpected animal rap battles. The night kicked off with a special first: Will from Sevimprov tried his hand at stand-up comedy for the very first time — and nailed it.

Drawing on his experience as an Englishman navigating life in Spain, Will charmed the audience with sharp observations and dry humor. Not a bad debut for someone whose usual stomping ground is the unpredictable world of improv.

But the real magic happened when Will was joined on stage by Dalia, for the main event: a trio of improv games that pushed their creativity — and their accents — to the limit.

The first game, “Switch,” was set in rural North Carolina and had the Sevimprov duo at the mercy of stage manager Kelsey who was switching their speech and actions with hilarious results.

Next came a new format that had the crowd roaring: Dalia acted as an “American English translator” for Will’s overly polite, hedging British monologue. As Will stumbled through phrases like “If it’s not too much trouble, perhaps we might consider leaving soon?” Dalia fired back with deadpan translations like, “We’re leaving. Now.” It was a hilarious lesson in cross-cultural communication, and the chemistry between the two performers elevated the absurdity to perfection.

The finale was one for the books: a full-on rap battle. Dalia entered the ring as a trash-talking monkey, while Will came out swinging as an Aussie kangaroo with bars. Though Will’s kangaroo flow was nothing short of impressive, Dalia’s monkey persona was pure gold — her punchlines, cadence, and bananas-for-brains wordplay won over the crowd and reclaimed her rap battle crown.

Sevimprov’s performance was a perfect blend of sharp improv, linguistic playfulness, and sheer joy. Whether it was Will’s solo stand-up debut or Dalia’s victorious monkey mic drop, the night proved once again that this group can take any stage and own it.
