Bengkulu — A solemn and spirited atmosphere of togetherness filled the hall of Bengkulu Class IIA Correctional Facility as correctional officers participated in the Thanksgiving Ceremony commemorating the 62nd Correctional Service Day (HBP) in 2026. This event marked the peak of the national celebration, held centrally at the Prof. Muladi Auditorium of the Immigration and Correctional Polytechnic and attended virtually by correctional units across Indonesia, including the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) Bengkulu, Monday (April 27).

The national event was led directly by the Minister of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Andrianto, who emphasized the importance of transforming the correctional system toward a more professional, accountable, and community-oriented service.

In Bengkulu, the event was led by the Acting Head of the Regional Office of Ditjenpas Bengkulu, Sudirwan, and attended by the Head of Bengkulu Class IIA Correctional Facility, Julianto Budhi Prasetyono, along with heads of correctional units across the region. All participants showed great enthusiasm while attending the live broadcast from the central venue.

During the thanksgiving event, several important agendas were carried out as forms of appreciation and social care. These included awards for dedicated and outstanding officers, recognition for partners, scholarship distribution from Inkoppasindo, social assistance for the community, and the provision of business carts for MSME actors to support economic empowerment.

As the highlight of the event, a ceremonial rice cone cutting (tumpeng) was conducted as a symbol of gratitude for the 62-year journey of the correctional system. This momentum is expected to strengthen the commitment of all correctional personnel to continuously deliver excellent service and contribute to national development.

The Head of Bengkulu Class IIA Correctional Facility, Julianto Budhi Prasetyono, stated that the commemoration of Correctional Service Day serves as an important reminder for all personnel to improve performance and integrity.

“Through the 62nd HBP commemoration, we are committed to strengthening synergy, enhancing service quality, and ensuring that correctional services truly benefit society. This is not merely a ceremonial event, but a real manifestation of our dedication in carrying out our duties,” he stated.

With the spirit of the 62nd Correctional Service Day, Bengkulu Class IIA Correctional Facility reaffirmed its commitment to continuous innovation and excellence in public service, in line with this year’s theme of advancing a more impactful correctional system.
