Pit — you describe a workflow and it automates.

Pit is the new start-up of the e-scooter Voi founder, also based in Stockholm. Pit (also pitdotcom) is a platform to turn back-office and support functions into automations. It first helps make a process transparent with a usual question and answer. Then Pit generates a documentation, from there step by step it can generate a software to automate it. It can automatically generate briefs (for a campaign), workflow graphics and user interface previews. Opinion — In the spotlight with a seed funding of $16m by a16z. And on TechCrunch — (we avoid any re-write but are making an exception here). It took time to understand how it works — but then a fantastic thing. Above all it helps and leads to describe a problem, a workflow, a process. The basis for a good automation.

Remember that name “Pit”!

Kraft paper instead of aluminium, PaperShell.

PaperShell is a company doing materials — they are pressing kraft paper into load-bearing fossil-carbon free components. It’s designed to replace carbon-intensive, non-renewable materials like aluminum, plastic, and fibre composites (website quote). Opinion — The company is subsidised by the EU Innovation Fund, for CO2 reduction, with a substantial €40,3m. A big leap for this company starting to scale development and production. Sweden has an history of wood, paper and also manufacturing (cars, shipyard, aviation in Gothenburg). The right place for this venture.

Kraft paper is the future!

EF, electric ferries from Candela.

Candela is a producer of a new type of ferries, low-emission, small and “flying” over water. Model P-12, a carbon-fibre hydrofoil shuttle ferry that lifts above the waterline using a computer-controlled foil system and a proprietary electric motors. Opinion — The electro-mobility is bound to avoid the drag and have a fluid mobility on the water. Candela is on those two fronts. A 12-year old company that just raised €30m to expand.
