Some people wait until the victory to speak. Me? I’m speaking right here. Mid-round. Mid-battle. After what most would call a setback. Again.
But this time is different. Because this time, I stood up faster.
There’s something wild that happens when you’ve been knocked down enough times. You start to realise that the floor doesn’t define you. The bruises don’t speak for you. The count isn’t the end of you.
Each knockdown has left me feeling strange. Not broken me. Built me.
Not weakened me. Weaponised me.
And with every round, I’ve stopped counting what I’ve lost and started counting what I’m gaining. Clarity. Grit. Trust. A deeper knowing that victory doesn’t start on the podium. It starts on the canvas. It starts the moment you choose to rise.
The Words Became Weapons
For years, I’ve said the words, “I trust God.” But now? Now those words have become weapons.
Weapons against rejection letters and dead ends. Weapons against verdicts that tried to define me. Weapons against timelines I didn’t meet and doors I couldn’t force open. Weapons that fight not with rage, but with resolve.
“All things are working for my good” isn’t a slogan anymore. It’s my compass. It’s the undercurrent that pulls me toward what is mine, even when I can’t see it yet.
This Is Not the End
I’m not there yet. But I can already feel the wind from the mountaintop. I’ve seen enough to know that my breakthrough didn’t need my perfection. It just needed my perseverance.
So let me say this, not from the end of the story, but from the middle of the fight.
- I can’t wait to meet myself on the podium.
- I can’t wait to speak of this season as the beginning of my rising.
- I can’t wait to say, with a calm smile and eyes that have seen the wilderness.
I didn’t give up.
Because I didn’t. And I won’t. I’m still standing. Still swinging. And still expecting the best to come.
Your Turn to Rise
If you’ve just been knocked down, this post is for you. If you’re tired of fighting and wondering if it even matters, this post is for you. If you’re counting failures, stop. Start counting your getting-back-ups.
Because that’s where the fire is. That’s where your future is born. That’s where you find out what you’re really made of.
