WHEN MAGIC SHOWS UP

IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE

Magical moments like happy endings breathe and glimmer In quiet corners and smiles.

They ease the pain, light up the present to make life worthwhile.

Magic is woven in small moments around where miracles are meant to last in little joys, that banish our blues In the colours and choices laid out for you.

In the seeds we sow There is magic that grows A gentle, mystic power That needs no wand, hats or art just gratitude and a hopeful heart.

In this journey of ours, magic weaves in everyday rhythm For magic is life, a quiet grace A gift of pure song that unfolds through time and space.

As I sit to write, the clouds have taken over, with the sky turning grey; clouds are nature’s shape-shifters, opening the sky to magical dreams and mystery.

The cuckoo, somewhere in the trees around, calls in melody in rhythm with the breeze. I hold a comforting cup from which wisps of steam rise, and suddenly a feeling of gratitude, like magic, arises.

I remember that as a child, I was always spellbound and in awe during a magic show, completely mesmerised by the illusions. Now, as an adult, I realize that magic has a way of showing up oddly.

I watch the spiraling steam above my cup, like a sweet, gentle breeze in the midst of a squall, weaving a spell that dances upward. I let myself enjoy the rhythm of this magical moment.

The perfection at the end of every fairy tale led me to believe that magic has a way of showing up in happy endings, too.

This brings to my mind a wonderful story that I read some time ago. The story of Michelle Grant, who trained a baby beaver named Timber to return to the wild. Every day, Timber would return to her kayak and snuggle up to her. One day, Timber did not return. Michelle searched and scoured the pond for weeks before she gave up. Weeks later, she found a beaver’s skull, which she thought was Timber’s, and Michelle was devastated.

Much later, one day, when Michelle was kayaking in a neighbourhood pond, she saw Timber, who had found a beaver family. Timber surfaced beside Michelle’s kayak. She was delighted to see him with his family. He cooed, splashed his tail, and went to join his new family. Magical moments are the soul’s happy endings that arrive unexpectedly.

I thrive in these cheerful, magical feelings that feel like the soft breath of the universe, reminding us that wonder, like magic, is never out of reach. It gathers in the hues around and drifts and dances across the airy space.

When darkness looms, magical rays like hope banish the fear and doom. We have to believe that hope does not fade away but offers heartbeats to help us through the day.

Magic, like miracles, has a way of showing up as quiet epiphanies in moments of joy and in grand milestones, reminding us to pause and marvel at the profound beauty of the present.

All we need are those moments filled with imagination, gratitude, and a hopeful heart. A moment when the world pauses and looks around, weaving magical elements that transform the simple things of life with a power that makes us grow. So, I think it is time to begin to count the magical moments that unfold in a day.
