If you plan a trip to Boracay anytime soon, staying updated on the new implementation guidelines is important. On August 17, the local government of Malay, Aklan, started implementing a unified ticketing system for foreign and domestic tourists.
This new unified ticketing system streamlines visitors’ payment processes, reducing the need for physical cash transactions and long lines, and making the overall experience more efficient and secure.
Foreign tourists must pay the Boracay environmental fee, which costs PhP300, while domestic tourists must pay PhP100. Additionally, there is a terminal fee of PhP100 for all tourists. Residents with identification cards showing addresses in Aklan are exempt from paying these fees.
