India is divided by religion but united by palm oil

Japan built hard, diligent workers. China built ruthless ones. America and Europe became the cradle of research and invention.

And India?

India built a nation of guinea pigs — a population to test the latest tech on, to dump sub-par products onto, to sell whatever passes for “good enough” to people who technically have rights but practically have none.

Maybe that’s why Western industrialists are so bullish on India. Not because of our population size. Not because of our spending power (of which we barely have any). But because they know they can sell us anything and walk away clean.

Look at the Indian Biscoff — ₹29 for a clump of palm oil, gluten, and sugar. Would they dare sell that in their own countries?
