Eight Years Later: From Curiosity to Writing

After eight years of exploring the online world, something recently rewarded my last three years of blogging, my old passion for writing. Last week, a notification reminded me that May 1st marked the anniversary of when I created my first Web3 blogging account.

Eight years ago, I had no idea I was stepping into what we now call Web3. The term existed, but I was completely unaware of the emerging space. Saying “I opened a blogging account” barely scratches the surface. It was so much more.

More Than a Blog: The Real Power of Web3

Today, I can confidently say that Web3 blogging holds potential most people can’t yet imagine. It’s not just about writing — it’s a space where you can already take greater control of your finances and gradually step away from traditional banking.

Of course, it doesn’t yet replicate every service traditional banks offer. But if you master even 20% of what’s possible here, you’ll be in a position that would make traditional institutions envious.

HERE ONE OF MY EXPERIENCES AND LEARNING

Navigating Hive: Staking, Delegation & Micro-Ecosystems It’s not just about “mining” HIVE through posting and curation. You can delegate your HIVE to earn passive income, and if you explore Hive’s micro-ecosystems, you’ll discover dozens of projects where you can stake and generate flows of HIVE and other tokens like LEO, SPS, DEC, and SPORTS.

There’s no single guidebook for this journey — at least, none I’ve found yet. I’ve learned through trial and error how to stake across different projects and accumulate various tokens.

Another example, I recently harvested 33 SPS that had been sitting unclaimed for weeks. I’ll reinvest it. Yes, the fiat value is far below my original investment, but which crypto project hasn’t been impacted by the current market conditions?

Some projects will inevitably underperform. The key is to accept the losses, cut ties, and double down on the ones with real potential. For instance, my ~$100 investment in SIM is now negligible — but that’s part of the learning curve.

Market Reality: Bear Trends, Reinvestment & Long-Term Belief Looking at HIVE’s monthly candle chart, it’s a long way from its all-time high above $3 in late 2021. The bearish trend seems to be grinding lower.

“Steemit price trend” In times like these, it’s easy to feel like there’s nowhere safe to go — except, perhaps, for HBD, Hive’s native stablecoin. Still, I remain deeply bullish on HIVE’s long-term potential, as well as on tokens like LEO and SPS. Outside the ecosystem, I’m patiently waiting for assets like AXS, RONIN, ONE, and ADA to recover. In the meantime, I’m consistently reinvesting the rewards these projects generate.

Will we see a new wave of high-value projects in the next few years? Only time will tell.
