How I Got Misled by Naukri.com : A ₹7,500 Lesson

I don’t usually write posts like this.

In fact, even after realizing I had been misled, I chose to stay quiet and focus on my job search instead of playing the victim. But after weeks of confusion, wasted effort, and zero outcomes, I’ve decided to document everything transparently — so others don’t fall into the same trap.

This is my honest experience with Naukir.com and there 360 services.

What You See vs What You Actually Get

Let’s start with what’s publicly shown.

On the surface, Naukri.com promotes its Pro plan with features like:

  • Auto-apply on jobs
  • Hidden job opportunities
  • AI-enhanced profile
  • AI resume maker
  • AI interview prep tools
  • Industry hiring trends

Sounds powerful, right?

Here’s the reality:

  • Auto-apply is NOT automatic You still have to manually answer most questions for every single application. It’s not a “set and forget” system applying to 50–100 jobs daily.
  • Hidden jobs? There’s no clear differentiation. The jobs shown are mostly the same pool, not even labeled differently.
  • AI tools? These are fine. No complaints here. But let’s be honest, these are basic tools available everywhere today.

So right from the start:

The value is being overpackaged and oversold.

The Sales Call That Changes Everything

Right after I bought the Pro plan (~₹1,400), I got a call.

This is where things escalated.

I was pitched Naukri 360 (6 months plan).

Initial price: ₹10,000

what was promised:

  • Resume building with multiple audits for 6 months
  • LinkedIn profile optimization
  • Personalized cover letter
  • Access to job opportunities across:
  • India
  • Europe
  • United States (remote roles)
  • Continuous support throughout my job search
  • “Unlimited edits” to my resume during the tenure

At this point, it sounded like a full-service job assistance package — not just content writing.

Then after making these claims he asked, “Sir, should I proceed with the payments now ?”

I said : “I need time to think.”

The response?

“If you disconnect now, you won’t get this offer again.”

Classic pressure tactic

When I hesitated further, the price instantly dropped to ~₹6,000.

That’s a 40% drop within minutes.

Let that sink in.

At that moment, I was made to believe:

  • I’m getting a limited-time deal
  • I’m unlocking full job support
  • I’m getting a chance to tap into international job market and remote job — Big Deal, right ?
  • This is a complete “360-degree” solution

So I agreed.

Total spent:

  • ₹1,400 (Pro plan)
  • ₹6,000+ (360 plan)

~₹7,500 gone.

The Illusion of “360 Support”

The word “360” is not accidental.

It implies:

  • End-to-end support
  • Resume + LinkedIn + job assistance
  • Active help in getting hired

That’s exactly how it was pitched.

I was told:

  • I’ll get access to international job markets (US, EU, India)
  • My profile will be enhanced for visibility
  • I’ll receive relevant job recommendations
  • I’ll have continuous support during my job search, resume audits, linkedin profile updates, etc, etc.

But here’s the truth:

The service is NOT 360. It’s mostly content writing packaged as something bigger.

What Happened next ?

Resume service :

Step 1: Minimal Interaction

After payment, I was connected with their resume team.

  • I received 3 generic templates and was asked to pick one
  • The “consultation” lasted barely 5–10 minutes
  • No deep discussion about:
  • My projects
  • Achievements
  • Metrics
  • Career goals

Instead, I was told:

“We’ll take content from your LinkedIn and build the resume.”

That’s already a red flag.

Step 2: Generic Output

After 2–3 iterations, I received a “final draft.”

It was:

  • Decent in formatting
  • But completely generic in content
  • No strong positioning or storytelling
  • No differentiation from a basic AI-generated resume

Step 3: The Biggest Contradiction

Here’s where things broke.

Once I was asked to “finalize” the resume, I was told:

“You won’t be able to request further edits. You can modify it yourself using the document.”

This directly contradicts the “unlimited edits for 6 months” promise made during the sales call.

LinkedIn & Cover Letter :

The Lowest Effort Possible

I expected:

  • A consultation
  • Questions about achievements
  • Tailored positioning

What I got:

  • A single email
  • Pre-written, generic content
  • Instructions to copy-paste

No personalization. No understanding of my profile.

Honestly, this level of output can be generated by free AI tools today.

The Core Problem: Job Support Was a Lie

The biggest reason I bought the service wasn’t content — it was job support.

What I Expected:

  • Relevant job recommendations
  • Matching roles based on my experience (2 years)
  • Better visibility or “NoCrit invites”

What Actually Happened:

  • Completely irrelevant job suggestions
  • Majority roles required:
  • 3–5+ years of experience
  • No filtering based on my profile

Real Outcome: 700+ Applications, Zero Results

and this is what a resume that there team claimed is having 95+ ATS score

I applied aggressively:

  • 700+ applications in one month
  • Platforms used:
  • LinkedIn
  • Instahyre
  • Naukri

Result?

Not a single meaningful response.

Now, let’s be clear — this isn’t entirely their fault.

But if you’re selling a “360 job support system,” your recommendations should at least be relevant.

When I Asked for Help…

I reached out to their support team asking:

“How can I get relevant job recommendations based on my experience?”

Their response:

“You need to buy another service — Fast Forward.”

Let that sink in.

After already paying ₹7,500 for “360 support,” I was told I need to pay again for actual job assistance.

The Trap: You Can’t Even Upgrade

At this point, I was still willing to move forward.

I thought: “Fine. Let’s buy the actual job support service.”

Then came the final blow.

After speaking with support (including Bhavya Chawla from Naukri):

  • I cannot purchase Fast Forward while my 360 plan is active
  • I cannot switch services
  • I cannot get a refund

So basically:

I am locked into a service I don’t need, and blocked from the service I actually want.

The Call Recording That Was Never Shared

At this point, I genuinely started questioning myself.

I thought:

“Was I over-assuming things? Did I misunderstand the sales pitch?”

So I did the most reasonable thing.

I asked them to audit the original sales call.

Because:

  • They clearly mentioned that calls are recorded
  • The entire pitch happened there
  • If I was wrong, the recording would prove it

Their response:

“You will receive an update within 24–48 hours after the call audit.”

Fair enough.

I waited.

No response. No update. No follow-up.

So I took it one step further.

I asked them:

“Can you share the call recording with me? I want to review it myself.”

And that’s when things got even more concerning.

They straight up refused.

No explanation. No alternative. Just a denial.

What This Means

Let’s break this down logically:

  • If the sales pitch was accurate → sharing the recording would protect them
  • If I misunderstood → the recording would clarify everything
  • If there was transparency → audit results would be shared

But none of that happened.

Instead:

  • No audit outcome
  • No recording access
  • No accountability

The Bigger Concern

At this point, it no longer feels like a misunderstanding.

It feels like:

Avoidance of verification.

Because when a company:

  • Records calls
  • Promises audits
  • But refuses to share evidence

It raises a very simple question:

What exactly are they trying to avoid?

Why This Matters

This is not just about my case.

This is about trust.

If a platform:

  • Can sell you based on verbal claims
  • But won’t let you verify those claims later

Then you’re operating in a system where:

The buyer carries all the risk.

The Core Issues Summarized

1. Misleading Sales Pitch

What was sold ≠ what was delivered

2. Weak Execution

  • Generic resume
  • No personalization
  • Minimal effort services

3. False Expectations Around Job Support

“360” implies full support — but it’s mostly content writing

4. Upselling After Purchase

Real value hidden behind another paid product

5. No Flexibility

  • No upgrade
  • No migration
  • No refund

Final Verdict: Is It a Scam?

I’ll be blunt.

This feels less like a premium service and more like a well-structured funnel designed to upsell you repeatedly.

  • Step 1: Sell you a “complete” package
  • Step 2: Deliver partial value
  • Step 3: Push you toward another paid service

Call it what you want — but for me, it was a ₹7,500 lesson.

Advice to Others

If you’re considering Naukri or the Pro plans :

  • Don’t rely on sales calls — ask for everything in writing
  • Clarify:
1. What "support" actually includes
2. Whether edits are truly unlimited
3. Whether job recommendations are personalized
  • Avoid bundled packages that mix vague promises

And most importantly:

If a service sounds like it solves your entire job search — it probably doesn’t.

What I Wish I Did Instead

  • Built my resume myself (or used AI tools)
  • Focused on targeted applications instead of volume
  • Networked more, instead of relying on platforms

Closing Thought

This post isn’t about anger — it’s about clarity.

If even one person avoids making the same mistake after reading this, it’s worth it.

Because job hunting is already hard.

You don’t need platforms making it harder.
