Today’s Forest Walk in Mindful Meandering

Being in the moment in nature

Being in Nature lifts me up. GK

In the forest I walk, and as I walk, tiptoe tippy-toe, walking gently on the forest path, looking at the beautiful and magical trees ahead.

I am hearing the creek, watching the flowers as they bloom, the magical ferns as they say hi, I walk by tip tip tip top walking in the forest bed looking at magical butterflies the trees with moss on them, the tiny little petals on the flowers.

I’m reaching a bridge. I’m preparing to go by. As I step on the bridge, I see the standing water, little critters jumping around, and beautiful bushes bearing huckleberries, blue huckleberries. Taking a step on the forest bed. Watching the trees.

Simple moments in life that can sum up where we are now, where are we going in the future. What is it that we can and cannot do, taking these steps? I’m arriving at beautiful flowers; oh, it’s magical: all the daisies, the foxgloves, oh, and the beautiful, beautiful, just magical meadow as the forest breathes.

There’s a thistle right in front of me and an elderberry right next to me, walking on the forest path; it’s a different path than what I thought.

It’s alright. I’ll just keep going. There’s nettle and edible leaves. They’re kind of peppery. There are berries and grasses and timberberry and more outerberry as I’m walking by.

I am observing with every step, and enjoying these moments that I am just grateful to have because you never know when your last moment on this earth in this specific existence is, so the ones you have you want to enjoy.

I am in the middle of the forest I’m turning right and left and round and I am standing here in awe that I am allowed to be here.

I am going to touch a tree and breathe with the tree, and I take this with me. This experience, this particular moment, will always be with me walking in the forest, touching the trees, the flowers, the ferns.

Some of the ferns are as tall as me. Some reach to my waist or my shoulders. There is a red elderberry. I’m sure I’ll find some more huckleberry. There is one. Elderflowers. The trees with beautiful hanging moss on them.

Part of me wants to take a million pictures, yet another part of me just wants to observe and be in the moment and take the pictures with my mind filled with the forest, with my heart, and just keep walking in the beautiful forest, time going up to be with the trees, walking by salal and magical memories.

There is a sign that says Timbersale boundary, which means part of this forest is going to stay. Parts are going to be harvested. I know that we need wood. I do prefer selective harvesting when they don’t just clear-cut everything.

I hear the little creek below me, as I keep walking step by step in the forest. I’m grateful to be here, passing another creek walking gently, trying not to disturb with each step I feel my muscles, my ankles, my body move. I’m breathing in the forest bed. I’m seeing the edge of the forest now. As I’m walking out of it. Till next time when I come back again to enjoy the forest, to breathe in with the trees to touch the leaves and admire nature as it is.

I think we sometimes forget to admire ourselves and others just the way we are, to lend a supporting hand, and not to use and abuse, but care, care, and be kind, and just be there for each other, assume a positive intent, not to be gullible, not to be used, but to try to create a little bit more positive world in humanity. Just like nature, there are so many species of trees and plants that can live together; it’s not perfect. Yet it is.

Sometimes a tree can fall, and as I had a discussion recently with a friend, then those trees become nursery logs, and many, many other trees grow from them, and that one tree gives home and provides sanctuary for so many.

I hope we can do that. I hope we can be a forest. A forest of people who are kind, thoughtful, and bring joy, positivity, and support to humanity instead of destruction.

I do hope that as I keep walking and keep observing the forest.

I am walking by a red huckleberry bush, and I don't pick any, leaving it to the birds, because sometimes we might see an opportunity that we could grab, and we can stop, smile, and move ahead.

Not every opportunity is meant to be explored; not every berry meant to be taken. Sometimes we can just walk by and leave that for someone else.

I am now walking out of the edge of the forest into the land of berries and flowers. I hear the birds and the cars, and with every step I observe.

I am still here, and while I can, I will keep taking these steps in the forest beds and amongst flowers and berries and enjoy their company and give back to them the same way they give back to me.

I thank them and admire them for all that they give to humanity.

The air, the food, the joy. We need beauty in our lives. We need the flowers. We need the green. When we don’t have them, we become sad. Same way when we don’t have the sunlight. We need nature.

As much as we need nature, we need each other.

We need each other’s company.

Thank you for being here with me, walking with me in the forest and amongst flowers.

I just entered the beautiful purple meadow of flowers beautiful white daisies and blackberries and we’ll take one from this one. What a delightful blackberry that was.

It’s beautiful here.

I’m walking by, thanking the ferns and the flowers for being here, and I am not taking a picture.

I am in the moment and observe without sharing.

I feel that some moments need to be shared with others. And some moments are just for ourselves.

To stand by a beautiful flower meadow and soak in and feel that existence.

Feel the magic and the power of the flowers, of the grasses of the world.

There’s a reason you picked up this book, or you're listening to this story. You meant to be here with me in the forest, in the flower meadow, taking a breath, taking a pause, walking gently in the forest bed.

Thank you for pausing. Thank you for caring.

Sending you love from the forest. By Gabriella. Until next time, may your day be joyful and beautiful as always. Thank you for being here.
