I’m writing from the middle of a lot of unfinished things.

I’m Black. I’m queer. I grew up Christian. I came from a place I worked hard to survive, and now I’m trying to understand what it means to build a life that is not only safer, but truer.

This space is about that search.

It’s about faith after certainty. Queerness after shame. Blackness without enough mirrors. Masculinity without enough models I could fully trust. Class movement without pretending money is the same thing as freedom. Love without pretending love automatically makes us safe.

I’m interested in the parts of identity that do not come with a clear inheritance. The places where the people who cared about me still could not quite speak into my life because their reality was too different from mine. The places where religion gave me language, but also fear. The places where family, politics, race, money, and desire all get tangled together.

I don’t have a neat thesis yet.

I’m writing to find one.

Or maybe I’m writing because I’m finally done needing one before I’m allowed to tell the truth.
