I have attended ThoughtWorks XConf 2018 recently in Bangalore. Just wanted to share the key takeaways. All of the sessions were by TW team members and majority of the participants were also TW’s
- Thought-works emphasised on their 3 new additional Agile manifesto values in addition to existing 4 values from 20 yrs old Agile Manifesto (attached for reference)
- Architectural Principles over Language and Frameworks
- Expertise in Domain over process and tools
- Experimentation over Execution
Agile Manifesto
- Clean code doesn’t cut the deal if we neglect architectural principles in distributed ecosystem
- Key Technical Domain that dev’s should be strong with over frameworks are Web, Browser, Mobile, Data, Event.
- TW Tech Radar Vol 19: Overview on 10+ key blips from their emerging tech trends categorised to tools, techniques, platforms, lang & frameworks. (https://www.thoughtworks.com/radar)
- Workshops on enabling one click deployments (CI/CD) with physical IOT devices & Ethereum Internals and DApps hands-on using Ganache. Please share your thoughts in comments if any of this is relevant or helpful !!
- Met some TW’s & other participants and was able to exchange ideas on lot of aspect towards Microservices, Micro frontends, Cloud, CI/CD, GIT, other pipeline strategies and synergies with their open source product GoCD.
There were multiple tracks but couldn’t cover all sessions, but definitely a good forum to discuss on latest trends and for tech knowledge sharing.
