Why I Had to Hit Pause on Everything to Get My Life Together

At the start of this year, everything I thought I had under control fell apart — my laptop broke, my phone crashed, deadlines piled up, and I felt completely stuck. But stepping back, leaning on faith, and rebuilding piece by piece taught me lessons I’ll carry forever

Looking back now, I realize that was the moment everything shifted.

I had been trying so hard to keep my life together, but honestly, I was struggling. Part of it was because I didn’t want to face some areas of immaturity in myself (yes, I said it 😅).

The more I tried to fix things with the same old mindset, the worse they seemed to get.

Have you ever been there?

Among many other things, the real trouble began when my laptop — the one I depended on for most of my professional work — suddenly broke down.

I was left with only a backup computer, and honestly, it was nothing to brag about.

Only someone who has tried doing 3D architectural modeling on a 5th-generation Core i7 laptop without a dedicated GPU — and with a deadline staring them in the face — can truly understand the frustration I went through.

To make things worse, I was also trying to keep up with writing regularly.

But with how slow that laptop was, even simple tasks took forever. Not being able to work at the pace I wanted only made my frustration worse.

The last time I sent an SOS message to my family, I knew I had reached my breaking point.

I decided that enough was enough.

I literally drew a line and told myself, this is the last time.

I was determined to get my life together and stand on my own two feet, no matter what it took.

So, I got to work — and I worked hard. Bleeding hands, chapped lips, and all, I pushed through.

I was fighting for my life and the future I wanted.

I challenged stereotypes (both physically and spiritually), broke through barriers, and refused to be limited. I read books that strengthened my mindset and turned every opportunity I got into a stepping stone.

I prayed for strength and asked God for grace to cover my shortcomings — and He gave it in full measure.

It takes a bold kind of faith, almost a crazy kind, to keep pushing when everything around you screams “impossible”, “it’s over” and tempts you to settle.

I remember those late nights praying in tears, “God, please, just get me a great laptop and watch me run.”

I’ve had to walk closely with God through every step of the process that brought me here.

It’s been a journey fueled by audacity, resilience, strength, and a kind of stubborn, blind faith that only makes sense in hindsight.

I can’t wait to share the lessons I’ve learned from this experience with you in the coming weeks.

I’m still very much in the process, but I’m back — because God has been reminding me of the promises I made and the assignments He placed in my hands.

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it. Colossians 4:17

He’s been nudging me to stay faithful and finish what I started.

Using the example of the church in Laodicea (Revelation 3), He reminded me not to get so comfortable in comfort that I lose sight of the spiritual purpose of my life.

I think you should apply that to your life too.

I am posting this as my first step to overcoming inertia.

As this year comes to an end, I have a lot of things to share with you but first, I will be finishing “Saved by Grace Through Faith with Works”.

For the meantime, I’d just leave this post here as something for you to think about:

Every now and then, life throws a wall right in our path. Ignoring it doesn’t make it disappear, and wishing it away won’t help either. But if you stop, take a good look, and dig a little deeper, you’ll always find a way through — or around — it. Every wall has a hidden door; sometimes, you just need to look closely to see it. ✨

Thank you for your support and until my next post,

God bless you and take care.
