This is Life
One time I had the opportunity to be trained by this ‘Guru’ in Thailand. I thought it was gonna be a typical seminar-like lecture about the recovery journey of the skin (TSW skin journey). It turns out that the important take away and lessons that I can share to my patients back home is that Life is not perfect and it’s important to say ‘you don’t know’ when you can’t be sure.
It was very counterintuitive from the basic medical-school principle that you were often taught back in your premed life. In medical school you are trained to assume and guessed as many possible diagnosises that you can think of and conduct exams and lab checkups to find the right one. Then you try to prescribe them medicines.
It was a very eye-opener lesson for me. This is life, you don’t have to act like you know everything.
