Kudos to Sheila Roberts

What an honor to be a guest author on Sheila Roberts weekly book talk.

I have been following Sheila and reading her books for st least ten years. She is unfailing at always mentioning other writers, their books and their writing journey.

I’ve never met her in person, but I feel like we’d be friends outside of social media. She and her husband, Gerhardt seem like such fun-loving people as seen in many of their reels. Gerhardt is also a writer as well as a college professor. At first glance, he looks very stoic, but it doesn’t take long to appreciate his dry wit. His book is called Safe Harbor and has a WWII setting.

If you watch Hallmark and Lifetime movies, you may have heard of Sheila Roberts without realizing it. Have you ever seen the movie The Nine Lives of Christmas? Or what about Christmas on Candy Cane Lane? That one was based on the series based on the fictitious town of Icicle Falls, which was based on the real town in Washington state, Leavenworth, a revitalized town turned into a Bavarian village. I loved the whole series of books in Icicle Falls as well as another series, Moonlight Harbor.

One of the Moonlight Harbor books, Mermaid Beach, touches on the hardships of being ‘discovered’ in the Nashville scene, which is something Sheila Roberts has firsthand knowledge of. Before becoming a very successful writer, she dreamed of becoming a singer/songwriter. There was another book of hers turned into a Lifetime movie, On Strike for Christmas.
