Sagaysay leads Adamson past UST in tight sweep, claims share of third spot

The Adamson Lady Falcons swept the UST Lady Tigresses, 27–25, 25–20, 26–24, in the UAAP Season 88 Women’s Volleyball Tournament second round eliminations on April 11 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre, climbing to a share of third place in the season standings.

Setter Fhei Sagaysay led the victory with seven points (3 attacks, 2 blocks, 2 aces) and 21 excellent sets, effectively distributing the ball to the rest of the Lady Falcons.

Sagaysay’s brilliant playmaking fueled the dynamic duo of Shaina Nitura and Frances Mordi, who tallied 19 and 18 points, respectively.

With a 7 – 5 win-loss record, the Lady Falcons are now tied for the third spot with the Lady Tigresses, moving a step closer to a Final Four berth.

Adamson’s remaining games are against UP on April 15 and FEU on April 18, both to be held at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion, as they eye their second Final Four appearance since Season 85.
