I never much cared for the classics we were required to read in school. I hated how the female characters were portrayed as weak or without agency. In highschool I discovered Science Fiction and devoured every book I could find. I liked fantasy too, but it was SciFi that had truly empowering women characters. For that reason, it is also my favorite genre to write.
