Rebranding

Transitioning Focus to Buddhist Studies, Practice, and Art

It may be obvious that I have been in the process of rebranding for a while. I focus mostly on Buddhist topics now and don’t really talk about the subjects that I used to. Going forward, I will be making this rebranding more formal. I will be using a new pen name — Wayward Bodhisattva — and writing a blog — Open Conjectures: Dharma Studies and Practice. This blog will be cross-posted across multiple platforms. (I will update this post with links to where else the blog is available.) Additionally, I will now be using the name Wayward Bodhisattva across all platforms where I write or discuss Buddhist topics. I plan to archive, delete, or ignore older posts that are inconsistent with the new subject of my blog. Going forward, one this blog I will be focused only on topics related to Buddhism.

While a great deal of what I write will be academic in nature, focused on textual criticism, early Buddhism, and Buddhist philosophy more broadly, I will also be posting about my own real-world projects related to Buddhism. I intend to do some major landscaping and convert a large section of my property into a “sanctuary” garden. I also make Buddhist statues and will be decorating the garden with life-size Buddhist statues that I intend to hand-paint. We also have quite a few rescue animals here at the house. Since compassion towards animals is part of the Dharma, I may post updates about them occasionally. There will also likely be a corresponding YouTube Channel and Podcast related to this blog.

For those of you who followed me for my writings on democratic socialism, anarchism, libertarianism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Gnosticism, universal basic income, economics, etc: I will now only be posting on those topics here if and when they overlap with Buddhism or are relavent to Buddhist studies.

P.S. Since a lot of the work I will be doing here will be related to ongoing research and studies, I will treat the more “academic” posts here as “living documents” rather than static posts. I will be updating them and making corrections as necessary. I will be logging changes and noting when the posts were most recently updated.
