The essence of meal-prepping doesn’t come without having either a lunch bag or a food container.
If you’re planning to start meal-prepping your lunches to take to school every day, these two things that I previously mentioned will be by your side the whole day. That’s why it’s very important to think about aspect and comfort when buying a lunch bag or food containers.
Lunch Bags
Lunch bags need to be comfortable, waterproof, and if possible insulated.
Even when it seems nearly impossible, there are great value lunch bags that have all the three aspects you should look for. Additionally, remember that you will be carrying this around for the entire day just like your book bag, therefore, try to pick one that you truly like, that’s not heavy or unnecessarily big.
Food Containers
Food containers are just a little bit more important that the lunch bag itself.
Because if you pick a good one, you’ll save yourself time cleaning your lunch bag because the sauce of your meatballs leaked out of the container. Invest on the ones that have the following characteristics,
-
Locks on lids so your food doesn’t leak
-
Microwave safe since it’s probably the only way to warm up your food
-
Plastic containers rather than glass because the second one can break with a fall and most of the time it’s heavier
-
Silverware included to avoid packing it separately
-
Extra space or division on top since those are very helpful when you want to pack salads or cold dishes
