The Fun That Was

the Challenged #29

School isn’t about study, study, and study. It’s more than that.

I’d gladly take this challenge. Thank you Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles for coming up with this prompt. I guess, all of us who write this would, for sure, feel nostalgic.

Before I proceed, let me tell you that I’m still a High School Senior, a 12th-grader with a lot to say. But don’t worry, I’ll stick to the point — ‘end-of-school childhood memory’.

Here goes the story liiiiiikke……

Oh shucks! Why do I feel like singing all of a sudden?

Well well, I used to study in another school until grade 10, and my last year was no other than a blast. From the very first day, all of us were quite determined to make a fuss. After all, we wanted our juniors to learn from us. “Kaand karna toh banta hai bhai!”

Our class was hella notorious. We used to get scolded every day. There were days when our class teacher showed up and didn’t teach us because of the complaints. We had to stand for the whole period. Gosh! I miss those days.

As for me, I enjoyed it but pretended I didn’t.

And my story is quite different. I was the famous absentee of my class. I bet, no one, YES, no one could break that record! Most days, I used to be late for school and stand outside. I enjoyed that too. Though, it seemed I didn’t.

Well, I had my reasons. During summer, I needed fresh cool air; we had fans but they didn’t work. During winter, I would stand in the warmth(Of course, the class felt as if we were sailing across an iceberg).

My class teacher figured out that I was “Mission Impossible” so sometimes, she would make me stand for 2 periods.

Well, this changed me a bit…

I began to be punctual. Always on time.

But, but…!!!

This didn’t last for long. I was the “Mission Impossible” and how could I let go of that dignity? I decided. I won’t. I was too disciplined to be this undisciplined. After all, that’s called determination(isn’t it?).

I still have a lot on my plate. But, if I start telling, it’s endless. Therefore, the limit ‘x’ tends to ‘infinity’.

Ohh shit! Wth was that?

Thank you for your time!

Stay Optimistic…!!! Keep Smiling!
