This eve, I tried to install PlexAmp on my wife’s Mac Mini, which has a 64 bit processor (i5) and is running 10.9.5. Given your requirements, this should be compatible, correct? However, I cannot get PlexAmp to play at all— the song does not advance, the visualizer displays nothing. At first, I thought the issue was with Airplay, but it fails to play even using local internal speakers.
For my Mac (MBP, 10.12.6, 16Gbs RAM), PlexAmp runs very well and I’ve been enjoying it so far.
For my wife’s Mac (2011 Mac Mini, 10.9.5, 8Gbs RAM), no joy.
I realize PlexAmp is unsupported, but this is not an isolated report — here in Medium, I see several similar issues with other users. Hopefully, you will fix this?
One other thing: On my wife’s Mac, the window maximize control is visible — and if inadvertently clicked, the window maximizes, filling the screen, and there is no way to restore the player window to normal size — even a restart won’t resolve the issue — even uninstalling and re-installing won’t resolve the issue — the only thing which does resolve it is to uninstall the application, and then remove all references to it in the ~ Library. Having done that, it can be re-installed and the window size will be reset to normal.
