Palaeopress is a publication dedicated to all things old, which means archeology, history, paleontology, and paleoclimate. You can read about ancient mysteries and new discoveries or write about them yourself!

What We Publish

We publish stories (long and short form) on all things old, including

1. New scientific discoveries
2. Personal stories related to history, archaeology, paleontology, and paleoclimates.
3. Fun facts about fossils, historic figures, civilizations, etc.
4. Essays on evolution, history, archaeology, and paleoclimates

What We Don’t Publish

1. AI-generated content — You can use AI to conduct spell checks, but the actual content has to be written by you in your own words. All AI-written stories will be rejected.
2. Plagiarized content — Make sure you don’t plagiarize, use your own words, cite references, and give credit where credit’s due. Copy-pasting someone else’s work will result in stories being rejected.
3. Lists- We want articles, stories, essays, not bullet points

How to Become a Writer

Easy peasy, leave a comment below, make sure your comment includes

1. A statement of your wanting to be a writer
2. What you write about
3. A link to an example article.

If we don’t get back to you in a few days, just follow up 😉

Writing Rules

1. Write a clear, compelling story with a clean presentation. This typically includes an introductory section, a body, and a conclusion.
2. Cite any references you used either within the text and/or at the end in a list (include embedded links)
3. Credit all images used, even your own!
4. Use Grammarly or something similar to check that your spelling and grammar are correct before submission
5. Use either American or British English spelling throughout (proper names are exempt from this, i.e., Journal of Archaeological Science)
6. Use Title Case for your article title, and make use of the subtitle option
7. Break up super-long paragraphs

Once You Have A Story

1. Submit it to Palaeopress, make sure it is still a draft and not already published by yourself or elsewhere.
2. Include five tags in your submission.
3. At least one tag should include either History or Science
4. Be open to editing suggestions (we don’t bite, we just want to help😉)
