About Me — 4 Years Later

How four years of silence taught me to write for connection instead of likes.

Four years ago, I wrote here as Story Teller.

I believe we live by stories, not by facts, and that the right story can heal what a hidden one has broken.

I stopped writing on Medium to work on finding my voice. I couldn’t write without knowing why anymore. I didn’t like the place I was writing from, trying to reach as many people as possible, focusing on what a faceless crowd might find interesting. I continued my membership and kept reading, both to support my favourite writers here and to learn from the best.

One simple question I found in the book “The Next Conversation” by Jefferson Fisher helped me to realise how lost I was.

That simple question was “Well, what do you want them to know?” It redirected my focus from what that faceless crowd might want to hear to the most important question in Nonviolent Communication: what's alive in me right now. What's begging to be born?

The answer should be the thing that would make me happier if I wrote about it and would bring the greatest value to my readers.

Two things were alive in me. I’m writing both now, and I’m keeping them separate on purpose.

The first is a novel answering a challenge Daniel Quinn gave to his readers in Ishmael: that we need a new mythology, one that lets us see a world worth living in, instead of the old story that casts us as flawed from birth and destined to dominate. I’ve carried the seed of this book for ten years now. It became a story about Ama, bonded to an instrument that holds a piece of her essence, about a love that has to unlearn its own instinct to protect, and about what happens when a world that ate the knowledge apple green collides with one that waited for it to ripen.

The second is a screenplay — I named the project “My Terminator”, the sequel to Terminator 2 I always wanted to see: a different story about the Machines we create and what we can learn from each other.

Alongside the writing: I’m an amateur painter, a laughter yoga teacher, and a tantra and fascia therapist. I blended those traditions into an integrative method I call KundaliniFasciaFlow — massage, dance, and intense aerobic work, woven together. It deserves its own article one day.

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me in the kitchen, cooking and laughing for no reason, or in my studio making a joyful mess with paint.
