Why I Chose to Enter the Field of Data Analysis: The Beginning of My Story

“Sometimes, the right path doesn’t reveal itself at first… it waits for the moment when we are ready to see it.” This thought was the spark that made me reconsider my direction — and write this story, which might become the beginning of someone else’s journey too.

I’ve always believed that every major decision starts with one simple question. For me, that question was: “Can I understand the world better — and make better decisions — through data?”

That single question led me to the first step of my journey into data analysis — a journey I never expected.

The Beginning… When I Didn’t Realize Its Value

I entered the world of data for the first time without truly understanding it. I interacted with it superficially, not knowing how powerful and impactful it could be. But after graduating, things became clearer: this wasn’t just another field… it was a massive, growing, opportunity-filled domain.

I realized that data isn’t weak or limited — it’s actually one of the strongest and fastest-growing fields today.

Serious Attempts… A Door Closes, Another Opens

I decided to take things seriously. I applied to major tech scholarships in Egypt such as ITI and NTI — two of the most reputable and well-known training programs in the country for building a strong technical foundation.

But I didn’t get accepted.

Of course, it wasn’t easy to face that. But I didn’t stop.

I chose to continue. I searched for other opportunities, kept learning, and eventually joined another scholarship — the one that introduced me to the topic of this article: Data Analysis.

Discovering the Field… The Turning Point

As I began learning more, I discovered that data analysis isn’t just a skill — it’s a new way of thinking. It’s the ability to turn chaos into clarity, numbers into stories, and raw data into decisions.

Slowly, I understood how powerful this field is globally… and how, in Egypt, it is known but not yet fully widespread, especially in the world of freelancing.

And that’s where my biggest challenge appeared: How can I navigate a global market while I’m still at the beginning?

The answer was simple: continuous learning, consistent practice, and patience.

So… Why Did I Choose Data Analysis?

I chose this field because I want to:

• Make decisions based on facts, not guesses
• Build a skill that is in high demand worldwide
• Be part of the future — not just an observer

This field helped me rediscover myself and showed me how anyone can start from zero and move forward if they choose to keep going.
