Just yesterday, I had a story about your favourite person published in Doctor Funny.

Within seconds of submission, Michael Burg, MD (Satire Sommelier) 😬 published my story. Either because it was really good, or he was really busy. He even highlighted and made a couple cool comments.

But he never clapped.

With the patience of a cat watching a canary, I waited and waited.

But not one clap was forthcoming from Michael.

Debdutta Pal also noticed the lack of clappiness. So it was kinda obvious and socially awkward for me.

Why, oh why didn’t Michael Burg clap on this story that I crafted with blood, sweat and tears in response to his hilarious prompt? A prompt I low-key asked him to write.

You, too, should do this prompt. It’s quite fun, even if the subject matter is nauseating. And if you do, I’ll clap on your story. I’m supportive like that, unlike other people…

Anyway, I’ve come up with a few possibilities why Michael Burg didn’t clap on the story he pretty much demanded I write. In fact, Chatty (my pet name for the AI) just said that Michael practically midwifed the birth of my story.

Anyway, anyway. Here are the possibilities:

• His clapping finger fell off in a tragic incident involving Cheeto dust.
• He was just about to clap when Tony called with terrific news that one of his stories had been brewstered.
• He thought highlighting was clapping, like people think emojis are writing. Actually, that one’s a possibility. Michael Burg, MD (Satire Sommelier) 😬 spells his name with emojis.
• He did clap. But with one hand in a forest, so I never heard it.
• He’s a bot demonstrating some sort of AI power move.

Who knows!
