“AAAH! My battery is dying, and the power hasn’t come back yet,” Cellulon Phonicus shrieked once the storm had passed.

“Drama queen. What joy, so God does exist after all,” Olympia, the typewriter, muttered.

“Jeez, you old relic, no need to talk so loud. You’re hurting my feelings again.”

Olympia’s whispers were always loud — after all, her keys had never heard of a silent mode. Still, it’s the thought that counts.

“Sorry, dear.”

“Dear, my ass, I know you hate me. You’re all thrilled because I’m about to go into a coma any minute now.”

“I don’t hate you; I hate everything you stand for. That’s all.”

“Oh, sure, apology accepted. I feel sooo much better now. HEY! My battery, DAMN IT!” He shrieked, setting off a bank notification, since he knew that was the only way to get his attention.

The guy kept his focus.

“You’re getting all cocky just because he’s using you today.”

“Of course — no power, no internet. He can actually focus on the book he’s writing instead of losing himself in your endless scrolling.”

“Not my fault these meat-sacks keep coming up with garbage. He could just as well write on me. I’m still way more useful, since afterward it’s all already synced on my buddy Macky. Besi — ”

“Finally, peace. The little anxiety box fainted. Now it’s just the two of us. If this blackout keeps up, we’ll knock out a good three chapters today.”
