What does rank of a matrix tell us about the solution
An interview question I think if I remember correctly

I have previously written about some other interview questions here:

The number of linearly independent rows or columns are indicated by the rank of a matrix. It also determines whether a linear system has unique, infinite or no solution. The information content or dimensionality of the solution space is also signified by the rank. A system is considered consistent (meaning it has at least one solution) if rank of augmented matrix and coefficient matrix is equal. A system has a unique solution if rank and number of variables are equal given that the system is consistent. A system has infinite solutions if rank is less than the number of variables. A system has no solution and becomes inconsistent if rank of coefficient matrix is less than augmented matrix.
That’s it for now. See you later.
