If this book was food that I'm trying out as something new and find it rather unexpectedly good at the start and fell off of my taste buds midway, I might have to cleanse on another food or drink for me to forget about it entirely.
It had a good pacing at the start knowing old books from the 2000s are quite original in its form. But then, I’m just sundered by how it turned out in the end. Sure, the Kindwalls got reunited and all but it doesn’t hit a definition that would simply place an ending as the ending. It could’ve had more to it. It could’ve had more story effects to it by leaning into the hasty life of Virginia’s runaway life while dealing with Severin’s approach to the suspense and thrill of the tales around the people of Tokyo and San Francisco.
Pretty sure I'm not the only reader here that feels like this. Anyway, time to cleanse and exit my way through another adventure of reading.
