How to stake BTC on Starknet

Before we begin: What do you need?

• ✅ Ready Wallet installed (browser extension for Starknet)

• ✅ Some STRK to pay for gas (usually less than $0.01 per transaction)

• ✅ Wanting your BTC to generate returns

PART 1 - Get your wrapped BTC at Starknet

Why do I need a “wrapped BTC”?

Native Bitcoin cannot operate directly on networks like Starknet. To use it in DeFi, you need a “ wrapped “ version of BTC: a token that represents your Bitcoin and does work in these ecosystems.

The four main options available on Starknet are:

👉 If you’re already on Starknet, strkBTC is the most natural choice: it’s the ecosystem’s native token, with built-in ZK privacy and increasing liquidity backed by the network itself. If you’re coming from outside with native BTC and prioritize decentralization, tBTC is still an excellent alternative.

Step 1 - Log in to AVNU

AVNU is Starknet’s native DEX aggregator. It consolidates liquidity from all pools to give you the best price on every swap.

3. Select Ready Wallet

4. Confirm the connection in the extension

Step 2 - Configure swap

On the main screen of AVNU:

• In “From” → select STRK

• In “To” → type tBTC in the search bar and select it

Enter the amount of STRK you want to convert. AVNU will automatically calculate the equivalent in tBTC and show you the best available route.

Step 3 - Execute the swap

1. Review the details: amount sent, amount received, and gas fees

2. Click on “Swap”

3. Ready Wallet will open asking for confirmation.

4. Accept the transaction

5. Wait for confirmation, usually between 5 and 15 seconds

Step 4 - Verify that you have tBTC

Open Ready Wallet and go to the Tokens section. You should see tBTC added automatically.

If it does not appear:

1. Click on “Add Token”

2. Type tBTC

3. Select it and confirm

Get strkBTC: Starknet’s new native token

strkBTC is the first wrapped Bitcoin built by Starknet from scratch. Unlike tBTC or WBTC, it has built-in ZK privacy and is the token that the Starknet community is actively adopting. If you’re already in the ecosystem, acquiring it is as simple as any swap on AVNU.

Where can you swap from?

The advantage of strkBTC is that AVNU supports it as a destination from any token you already have on Starknet : STRK, tBTC, WBTC, ETH… The process is identical in all cases.

Step 1: Go to AVNU and select Swap

Go to **https://app.avnu.fi and make sure you’re on the Swap tab. Connect your Ready Wallet** if you haven’t already.

Step 2: Configure the pair

• In “Sell” → select the token you have (STRK, tBTC, WBTC, etc.)
• In “Buy” → search for strkBTC and select it

Enter the amount. AVNU will automatically calculate the equivalent and show you the real-time exchange rate. At the bottom, you’ll see the price reference, for example 1 strkBTC = 1,934,235 STRK.

Step 3: Review and confirm

Click on “Review”. You will see the full summary:

• Exact amount you send and receive
• Exchange rate (e.g. 1 tBTC = 1.0005387 strkBTC)
• Minimum guaranteed received
• Network fees: Free ← one of the advantages of Starknet

Ready Wallet will open on the right, showing the transaction details: what you send, what you receive, and the “Sign” button . Review it and sign.

Step 4: Swap executed ✅

In a few seconds you will receive confirmation directly on the interface.

⚠️ An important note about the risks of wrappers

Before continuing, it’s important that you understand what having a wrapped BTC entails:

When you convert real BTC to a token like tBTC or WBTC, your original Bitcoin isn’t on Starknet; it’s held in custody or locked elsewhere. This carries four types of risk:

Custodial risk: someone (a company, a signer network, a protocol) is holding your BTC in custody. If they fail, the wrapper may lose its value.

Peg risk: In extreme situations of lack of liquidity or attacks, the wrapper may become decoupled from the BTC price.

Smart contract risk: the contracts that issue and manage the wrapper may have vulnerabilities.

Bridge risk: moving the token to Starknet uses a bridge, and bridges can fail.

The good news: for tBTC and WBTC, these scenarios are unlikely given their track record and the robustness of their systems. But it’s important that you know.

PART 2 - Stake your wrapped BTC

What do you need at this point?

• ✅ Ready Wallet installed and connected

• ✅ tBTC (or strkBTC) in your wallet

• ✅ Some STRK for gas

Step by step with Endur

Step 1 - Access the dashboard

2. Click on Connect Wallet

3. Select Ready Wallet

4. Accept the connection

Step 2 - Go to the Stake section

In the main menu, select Stake.

Step 3 - Select the validator

In the list of validators:

1. Find a validator (for example, Cumulo ;-)

2. Click on the validator to open its form.

3. Review the details: commission (10%), status, current APR

4. Stake Credit

Step 4 - Confirm the delegation

1. Enter the amount of tBTC you want to delegate

2. Ready Wallet will ask for confirmation

3. Review the summary and accept

4. Wait for confirmation on the network

Staking with strkBTC

Step 1 - Go to Stake in Endur

At **https://dashboard.endur.fi go to the Stake** section in the top menu.

Step 2 - Select the asset

In the “Select Asset” dropdown you will see the list of supported tokens: STRK, LBTC, WBTC, solvBTC, tBTC… Select strkBTC.

⚠️ Important: Not all validators support strkBTC. If the validator you selected doesn’t support it, you’ll need to change validators. Look in the list for one that does.

Step 3 - Select validator

This is where many users will encounter a surprise: most validators on Starknet don’t yet have strkBTC enabled. Check the “Select Validator” dropdown and see which ones support it.

Cumulo is one of the few that already has it active, with 453 days of operation, a 100% liveness factor, a 10% commission, and an APY of 2.50%. A solid option while the ecosystem matures.

Step 4 - Enter the amount and stake

Enter the amount you want to delegate or use the 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% buttons. Click on “Stake”

Step 5 - Confirm in Ready Wallet

Ready Wallet will open with the summary:

• Approve spending limit
• Enter delegation pool
• Estimated rate: < $0.01

Click on “Confirm”

Step 6 - Done ✅

Congratulations, your staking is now set up!
