The System Kept Going — VOO Day 1,626

This week was quiet again. Day 1,626 of buying VOO, and the annual dividend income has reached around $1,267. The market moved, as it always does — but I didn’t have to move with it. That distance might be part of why it’s lasted this long.

☑️ Why I Kept Going

At some point, I stopped making the decision every week.

I set up automatic purchases and left them running. Not because I had a clear strategy — more out of wanting to stop second-guessing myself. Removing one decision made more room than I expected.

The structure kept buying. I just didn’t cancel it.

💰 What Has Changed

Last week was a national holiday in Korea. I still had work — the week passed like any other.

On the way out, I stopped at a small shop and picked up dinner to go. I put my phone away and walked back slowly, looking around instead.

Music from inside the store, warm food in my hands, cold air outside. Things I would have walked past on any other day felt a little more present that evening.

I reheated the meal at the office and ate at my desk. The warmth carried through to my hands, and the night felt quiet in a good way.

🛣️ The Form That Makes It Possible

I didn’t change much.

Automatic investing running in the background, that daily rhythm more or less intact. A little less time on my phone on the walk home.

The week didn’t slip away. I’m still doing it the same way — not because it’s the best method, but because it’s one I can actually continue.

For now, this has been enough to keep going.
